Mardi Gras in New Orleans

Another year, another fantastic Mardi Gras in New Orleans. This year, we decided to do a Seekender staycation at Hampton by Hilton so we could be closer to all the festivities. New Orleans has three Hampton by Hilton properties. We stayed at the one by Convention Center which is in the Central Business District. It's walking distance to all the action and also close to the French Quarter. Their Lower Garden District location is probably the best because it's right on the parade route! I love that we didn't have to drive anywhere. Our favorite parades during Mardi Gras season are Krewe of Nyx (the goal is to get a purse from one of the floats), Muses (they throw bedazzled shoes!), Endymion, Orpheus, and of course, Zulu, which rolls on Fat Tuesday. Make sure to download the parade tracker app so you can track all the floats. The entire city is a huge costume party. It's the perfect time to visit New Orleans.
